FAQ Menu

1- Do you have a web site?

Urantia Research, has had a presence on the web since January 2007. Visit http://www.UrantiaResearch.com to see presentations by Urantia Book readers. New postings of articles, dissertations, ideas, movies and more are are added as they become available.

2- Do the sacred texts have a search feature?

Yes! That is the exciting feature of this presentation. The ability to do detailed, sophisticated electronic searches on your favorite source of truth is now here!

3- Search feature doesn't work.

Make sure your default browser has Java enabled. Examine your firewall's settings and turn Acitve-X on. See the Users Guide. If problem persists, contact Customer Support at support@urantiaresearch.com.

4- I get "In Incorrect Place" when searching.

This happens when certain words are searched for. These words are logic operators and the search program thinks it is a command. For example, if the word 'AND' is searched for, the error "In Incorrect Place" is displayed because the search expects something like Bob and Tom.
These words include OR, NOR as well as AND. If these words are truely needed to be found, surround the term with double quotes; "AND".

5- Text to Speech?

It is being serious considered. Using the MS reader voice sounded distractingly harsh. Adobe Acrobat Reader also has a text to voice feature.
Good choosable voices, when available may be offered in the future.

6- Where did the files come from?

The King James Bible was created with the HTMLCompiler by BibleDatabase
The Urantia Book files were downloaded courtesy of The Urantia Book Fellowship.

7- Downloadable

Being available on the internet is handy, but what if web access is not possible?
Initially, internet access is required, but the program will be available for download in future. To have a version downloadable to run when not on the internet is being implemented.

8- Side by Side Look

By opening multiple incidents of the application, and placing their sized windowns side by side, text comparisons can by examined line by line.

We intend to expand the electronic transcripts of all man's tomes of truth.
All truth is to be included.

With HTML versions of the Tora, Koran, Morman Bible and Oahspe, they will be included.
All works of worth should be included subject to the Sprit of Truth.

10- Can the texts be trusted to be exact replicas of the original documents?

We believe all transcripts to be exact represtations of their repective originals. If you find a discrepency, please notify us imediately, so the error can be corrected.

11- System Requirements

This presentation was designed to be easy to use, fast and use minimal hardware resources. The program's foundation is HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language) and contains Java scripts.
  • Hardware:
Pentium or higher IBM® compatible PC
    256MB of RAM (512MB recommended)
CD ROM reader (only requiried for CD version)
High Color VGA Video and VGA monitor capable of high color
  • Hard Drive:
CD version does not install anything not even a temporary file to your hard drive and only requires temporary RAM in your computer to run. If the 'EXE' program is stored on the system's hard drive, the needed size is dependent on the specific application. Does not install anything to your hard drive except the application and requires only RAM overhead from your computer to run.
  • Platforms:
This program runs under Windows® 95, 98, 2000, and XP which uses NT technology. The optimum display properies settings should be set to Medium 16 bit Color Quality, and the screen resolution is best at 1280X1024.
  • Speed:
The faster the CPU speed and ROM reader, if application is on CD, the faster the images appear on your screen. And of course the more RAM you have, the faster the imaging process will also be.

  • See the Users Guide for additional requirements.
